Bans for smoking?02/20/2006 |
What are the bans for smoking now?
That depends on the community in which you live. Many cities have smoking bans; the campaign for Smoke Free Ohio will try to put a law on the Ohio ballot in November 2006 for Ohioans to vote to have the state become smoke-free (public places). The American Cancer Society is the driving force behind this campaign; and many businesses and other organizations have signed up to support this campaign.
According to the Smoke Free Ohio website, "Smoke Free Ohio is NOT a smoking ban. This term is misleading because our law does not ban smoking. SmokeFreeOhio just asks smokers to step outside for a few minutes to protect everyone's right to breathe clean indoor air."
If you go to the American Cancer Society website, do a topic search for:
clean indoor air
