Hair allergy03/13/2006 |
For the past 5 years I have been applying highlights to my hair. Two years ago, I used a dye for the first time. My scule reacted badly. I swallowed all over my head and had to take a shot of cortizone for thw swallowing to stop and my head would return to normal. Sine then, I have been trying many other dyes as tests on my hand, but to all I had a allergic reaction. The only thing that did not react was 100% natural Henna, but it doesn`t cover the grey hair. Do you know what type of allergy I have? and what product should I be using to avoid the allergy?
The reaction you had is "contact dermatitis". In order to determine what caused the reaction you would need to see an allergist or dermatologist for "patch testing" to specific ingredients in the hair color. In the meantime avoid the agent that you used.
