Clean urine test

03/16/2006

Question:

I have been clean and sober for a long time but recently tried some adhd medication (adderall). Now I have to take a urine test at work. Will this show up as amphetamines in my urine. How long will it take to have a 0 result in my urine. Thanks.

Answer:

Yes, it is very likely that Adderall will show up as an amphetamine in your urine since Adderall and Adderall XR are made up of a combination of amphetamine salts.

When will you have a 0 result in your urine? That is difficult to predict, but depends on things such as:

1. your kidney function

2. your liver function

3. the amount of Adderall that you took

4. how long ago you took the Adderall

5. how sensitive the urine test is

6. what other medications you took at the same time

Adderall has a half-life of about 12 hours, so, all other things being equal, there should be no Adderall in your system after about 60 hours. However, this is just a rough estimate, at best, since I do not know the data listed above.
