Medication to avoid03/20/2006 |
What medication needs to be avoided by MG patients - I take Mestonin, 80 mg per day, and have weakness of the arms and legs. I am told that certain antibiotics, antihistamine and magnesium should be included in this list.
There are some medications that should be avoided and others that should be used cautiously, as they can worsen myasthenia. Let me direct you to two great websites. Hope these help. http://www.mgauk.org/main/mgdrugs1.htm http://www.myasthenia.org/drugs/reference.htm
