Should people with VonWillebrands get tatto`s? What is the risk factor for bleeding?
People with mild Von Willebrand's Disease (vWD) usually do not have abnormal bleeding from getting tattoos. Those with severe vWD would be at higher risk for bleeding with this procedure. There is a risk, however, for getting viruses such has hepatitis or HIV from getting tattoos. The equipment used to do the tattoos must be properly sterilized to prevent spreading viruses.
