Clogged Carotid Artery
In 1993, when i was 23 years old, I was diagnosed with a carotid body tumor.. The surgeon excised the tumor and whole carotid body out.. Recovered from the surgery and a year later ended up finding out the artery is 100% clogged.. At the time, my cholesteral was nice and low...
My question is, what should I do as I`m starting to get older and can I possibly live a full life with a completely clogged carotid artery?
Thanks for any and all responses
I would recommend you see a vascular surgeon. Studies likely need to be done to be sure the artery is truly completely blocked as you describe, but also to evaluate the other carotid artery.
In the meantime, be sure you are not smoking any form of tobacco.
Best of luck!
