Uterus infection03/27/2006 |
I am disgnosed with uterus infection, my gyne had done a paps smear test on me and it was under `Class 1` which means that I`m alright. I was given some antibiotics and was asked to go back for another paps smear test in 6 months` time. Does it mean that I`m prone to uterus cancer? What is the cause of uterus infection? Could it be also due to the abortion I had 3 months ago?
Without the specifics about your uterine infection, I can't comment on you specifically. A true infection of the uterus isn't associated with a risk of developing uterine cancer. Also, the Pap smear isn't designed to detect uterine cancer, but cervical cancer. Uterine cancer can be found on a Pap smear, but it isn't a screen for it. The best screen for that is abnormal uterine bleeding.
