Pressure Valve Dentures04/18/2006 |
The upper denture I have has a pressure valve inserted. It is a metal denture and it has worked perfectly until recently. I have asked a dentist to replace the valve but he says they are no longer available because the setup didn't work. It worked very well for me. Are they no longer available?
I have to apologize for my delay in reply. The valve you speak of is not popular nowadays and is unfortunately no longer available. I understand that it does work well, but there was concern about unnecessary injury and inflammation to the tissues it was contacting.
Most upper dentures work well without the pressure valve. An alternative adjunct to increase retention includes dental implants.
Hope this helps.
