Spiral Fracture In the Fermur

The mother says she hit the child in the thigh with the palm of her hand. The child suffered a short oblique fracture to upper 1/3rd & lower 2/3 of her femur. Is the injury consistent with her description of how it occurred? The mother says she thought she did not hit the child very hard.
