Ear, Nose, and Throat Disorders

Effects of Rhinocort Acqua 32 mcg

04/14/2006

Question:

I was recently prescribed this medication for sinus pressure and swelling, primarily the right sinus. After being on the medication for a couple of weeks I am beginning to notice some ringing in my ears that I would describe as hyper sensitivity to sound - everything is much louder. Currently I use two sprays in the right side and one spray in the left side of my nose. Is this sensitivity a temporary condition as my body adjusts to the medication or am I overmedicating myself? Or could all of this be in my head (sorry for the pun).

Thanks!

Answer:

These symptoms should not be caused by the use of Rhinocort or any other nasal steroid sprays.
