Smoking and Tobacco

Allergic to smoking

I have a teenage daughter whom I believe is allergic to smoke. She is choosing to smoke cigarettes and she has a terrible smoker`s hack (the kind you hear from people who have been smoking for years). I obviously talk to her about everything we know on why she should not smoke. Is there any other information about acceleration of smoke related diseases for people who obviously cannot tolerate or are truly allergic to smoking?

Smoking obviously aggravates allergies and asthma. Your daughter will have to want to quit herself, but you can keep the lines of communication open so she will feel free to talk with you.

A few really good web resources are:

ASPIRE, MD Anderson Cancer Center, an animated program for smoking cessation:

Surgeon General, an animated program for the consequences of smoking.

For parents and other caregivers to assist with talking to kids.
