Breastfeeding with H-Pylori bacteria
I have just been diagnosed positive for H-Pylori bacteria. I am currently exclusively nursing a 5 mo old baby. How or does this affect her? Do I need to get her tested if I have noticed any signs of stomach problems?
Since breast milk is protective of bacterial infection, it is very unlikely that your baby would have been infected by this organism. It would not be in your milk. Most antibiotics that you would be prescribed are also safe in breastfeeding. However please feel free to contact us again if you have any doubts.
