Osteoporosis

Fosomax and Jaw Disease

05/22/2006

Question:

How long before oral surgery should I stop Fosomax?

Would Actonel have the same connection to jaw disease?

Answer:

No one knows the answer to your question for certain.  I would recommend you stop the medication as soon as you know you are going to have dental surgery.  Restart it when you have completely healed from the procedure.
