Could this be Bell's Palsy?04/02/1998 |
Why would a new mother become paralyzed on the left side of her face after giving birth to her first child? Age of new mother being 35 yr. old.
The most likely cause is Bell's palsy a temporary affliction of the facial nerve. Bell's palsy usually gets better within a week, and may need steroids to assist in healing. One must always be concerned about the much less common incidence of stroke; therefore, it is essential to see your health care provider.Arthur T.
