Breast Feeding

Diet

06/19/2006

Question:

I am interested is there any proper diet while you breastfeed?

Answer:

If you would follow the food pyramid you would be on the right track. You will need a few extra calories for breastfeeding (an additional serving of dairy and fruit would meet these needs). The extra calories should come from good sources of nutrition, not empty calories. Try to avoid excessive sweets, fried foods and junk foods.

The WEB site about the food pyramid is: ChooseMyPlate.gov
