Gum infection07/03/2006 |
I noticed there are white spots growing on my gum, perhaps some kind of fungal infections from lesions due to brushing. It`s not painful at all but it`s becoming a disturbance. I`m assuming it`s going to eat my gum if I chose to ignore it. Is there a procedure I can do to temporarily stop the infection before I go to the dentist?
Fungal infections are generally seen together with burning sensation on gums etc. White spots may be due to thickening of the superficial surface of the oral mucosa (hyperkeratinization) and can occur for several reasons. You should visit a dentist for a differential diagnosis.
