Fungus type of cancer that affects the skin07/19/2006 |
There is a form of cancer connected to a fungus that affects the skin and internal organs - big blotches on the skin?
Fungi normally do not lead to cancer. They may lead to chronic draining sinuses that over a period of decades may be associated with malignant change, but they are not in fact the primary cause to my knowledge. There are skin diseases that produce large blotches that are misnamed; such as pyoderma gangrenosa which in the early descriptive literature was thought to be mycotic fungal in origin but it is not routinely associated with cancer. If you can be more specific we might be able to help you.....giving us a case report, etc.
