Burst veins

Question:

I am a 38yo female. Occasionally, I will have a vein in one of my legs that will swell and then burst, leaving a very large swollen black bruise. The swollen vein is usually not painful, and sometimes, I am unaware of it until it has burst. I have had this happen in my upper calf and shin. I just recently started jogging, and today noticed a similar swelling/bruise in my left wrist. Should I be concerned?

I would recommend seeing your primary care doctor for a physical examination and consider checking your platelet count to be sure this is adequate.
