Graves' Disease Symptoms08/11/2006 |
Will Graves' make you feel like you have indigestion? I have hardly ever had heart burn but today it feels like every thing is stopped in my throat. My older sister was told she has Graves' Disease.
Indigestion and heartburn would not be very typical symptoms of Graves' disease. More typical symptoms would be:
- weight loss
- nervousness
- feeling unusually hot and sweaty
- shakiness
- having palpitations in the heart
Severe Graves' disease can cause difficulty swallowing by interfering with the muscles of the throat, but I would expect this to develop gradually. Graves' disease can also be associated with a very enlarged thyroid gland that could cause you to feel like "everything is stopped in my throat," but this, too, would be expected to develop gradually rather than suddenly.
