Natural Ways to Regulate Thyroid

08/14/2006

Question:

I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition making it difficult for me to conceive. I also have a tumor on my pitutary gland. I have been on Synthroid for over three years now. I have none of the typical symptoms (i.e. weight gain/loss, tiredness, etc). What are some natural ways to regulate my thyroid? Thank you.

Answer:

If you have been properly diagnosed with hypothyroidism then there is only one adequate treatment, and that is to take thyroid hormone pills. The thyroid hormone in the pills is exactly the same material that is manufactured by your thyroid gland. From that standpoint, it is really about as natural as you can get.
