White gums08/09/2006 |
When i wake in the morning the top of my gums are white (around the top of the teeth, however my bottom gums are fine) when brushing them they bleed but after 5 min of brushing the whitness goes away and the bleeding stops. Since brushing day and night now the whitness is not as visible. my bottom gums are healthy.
It sounds like you use your mouth to breathe while you are sleeping. Mouth breathing causes dryness of your gums, especially on upper front area. We need saliva to protect our dentition. Saliva washes gums and does not allow bacteria to adhere on tooth and gum surfaces. I recommend that you visit a dentist and get a check-up and cleaning. This should decrease the bleeding. Then have a check-up with an ENT doctor.
