Listerine gargles

08/23/2006

Question:

I sent in this same question on Tuesday August 8th,and I still have not received a reply. Her it is again.

Are there any benefits to gargling with listerine? How many times a day is best? How many seconds each time?

Answer:

Listerine is not recommended for use by the elderly because of its alcohol contents and phenolic compounds, since alcohol dries the soft tissues of the mouth.
