Painful knot in my vein that burst09/11/2006 |
After work I was laying on the couch when I had a sudden urge to scratch my calf & when I looked closer it was a big knot. The knot hurt & I keep pushing on it & rubbing it. It itched like a mosquito bite.Before I went to bed the knot went down but this morning it`s still a little bumpy & tender to touch. The knot is located on a vein that has been visable for a long time. Should I see my physician? Thank-you
Sometimes the skin overlying very superficial veins can become irritated from an insect bite or trauma resulting in bleeding if it has been scratched. This is not unusual, but I would recommend you have a physician examine it.
