Trying to conceive after a laparoscopy?09/14/2006 |
Hi, I had a laparoscopy done 2 weeks ago, and recently have seen some brown spotting today that has resolved itself - my husband and I have also had unprotected sex a few days ago for the first time since my procedure - what is this brown spotting and how soon can I start trying to conceive, the results of my lap, after a d&c and a tubal dye test showed everything normal except for mild endometriosis that was taken care of. Any help/insight is much appreciated.
It is not unusual to have some spotting (old blood and drainage related to the laparoscopy) after having a laparoscopy. If you feel like having sex, it's fine, and if you are trying to conceive, there is no reason not to have sex.
One caution: even though you may have been told that everything/the endometriosis that was found on the laparoscopy was "taken care of," endometriosis is one of the main reasons why some women have difficulty becoming pregnant. However, if you can become pregnant, the endometriosis may also decrease.
Good luck.
