Bumps on the back of my tongue09/29/2006 |
I recently had root canal done, and my tongue feels like it has a cramp in it, why? Also I have these little red bumps on the back of my tonuge?? can you tell me anything about this?? Thanks!
I really cannot say why your tongue feels like it gets a cramp. I don't think it is related to the root canal treatment.
The large red bumps on the back part of your tongue are taste buds. There are 4 types of taste buds on the tongue, and these are one type. They are called circumvallate papillae and are in a curved row at the very back part of the tongue. There are only about a dozen of them.
If you are still worried about the appearance of your tongue, have your dentist evaluate the area.
