Menopause

Pubic hair area itching

10/26/2006

Question:

Why does my pubic hair itch after menopause, and how can I get some relief

Answer:

Dry skin and pubic lice are two causes of itching in the pubic hair area.  For dry skin, stop using soap and just use clean water.  For lice, examine the hair very carefully looking for nits on the hair shaft.  Check with your gynecologist or dermatologist to be sure of the diagnosis and to receive the correct treatment.
