Urinary Disorders

I`m having very sharp pain in my urethia?

10/23/2006

Question:

I keep getting very sharp pains in my urethia. I had a normal pap, normal urine, normal pelvic ultrasound. But the pain is there and it`s real. If I drink excess amounts of water then it really hurts when I urinate. I was also checked for stones and thats fine as well. Would you have any thoughts on what this could be? Thank you

Answer:

This question has been forwarded by Women's Health:

Women who have lack of enough estrogen in their vaginal canal may experience some of your symptoms. If you have no other symptoms, like frequent urination and severe pain in the bladder area, you may want to alert your urologist or gynecologist of this condition. Rarely, interstitial cystitis may cause some of these symptoms.
