Can use of Advair inhaler cause thrush? And, if so, what treatment is there?
Advair can definitely cause thrush as can any topical steroid. This often can be prevented by thorough rinsing and gargling after each treatment. If this is not successful, thrush can be treated by a local anti-fungal mouth wash. If these measures are unsuccessful, a temporary interruption of therapy may be necessary but this can only be tried if your asthma is mild and will not flare after a brief stoppage of medicine.
