Unformed, mushy stools10/31/2006 |
About a month ago I had diarrhea that lasted about a day. I assumed it was something I had ate the night before at a restaurant. Since that time I have had really soft, unformed bowel movements every morning - but only once a day.Prior to that I would have "normal" bowel movements but ended with soft stool. I`m concerned about the change and no matter what foods I add/eliminate, they don`t change back to "normal." Thanks for any insight.
A change in bowel habits after an illness is quite common, even after a day. However, if it persists, you need to consider other ailments like colitis, Crohn's disease, other infections. Lactose is also a common culprit so eliminate dairy to see if things improve. If not, consult your primary care doctor.
