Lump on the shin bone10/27/2006 |
Hi, I have been running for about 7 months now and have recently been going on long runs for over an hour. I have - off and on - had lots of problems with my calves (pain in the muscle) and have recently found a lump on the shin bone which appears to be growing. I am a bit worried as I don`t know what it could be. Should I see a doctor and should I have a break from running? Could it be a cyst, or anything worse like a tumor?! Many thanks
Any bony growth that is enlarging should be evaluated by a physician. This could be a healing stress fracture, bone cyst or even skin cyst. Tumors are certainly possible. Examination and x-rays will be needed and this alone may provide the diagnosis when performed by your physician. I hope this helps.
