Braces

Headache from braces 11/21/2006

Question:

I`ve just started wearing invisalign braces, and I`ve been feeling tired and having headaches ever since. I`ve tried taking pain relief pills, but it doesn`t last forever. I`m currently in high school, and I can`t concentrate in class and while studing with my braces on. So I was wondering, can you suggest some solutions on how I can get rid of the fatigue and headache while wearing the braces? Thanks for your help.

Answer:

This is one I haven't had before.  I have had the best luck with Aleve for pain relief. You definitely need to let your orthodontist know of your symptoms.  He can check for wire size and may want to return to a smaller diameter wire.
