Blood in urine12/04/2006 |
My soin is 11 years old, we have jsut had a medical which has identified that he has blood in his urine, he has no pain on urinating, or any pain symptoms at all, 12 months ago he had the same and the culures came back as a slight infection, can you tell me why this would happen again.
There are many reasons for children to have blood in the urine. Although this can sometimes be due to a major medical problem like kidney disease or kidney stones, usually it does not mean much. Medical kidney doctors, called nephrologists, often do some simple screening tests to make sure the kidneys are normal. These tests may include an ultrasound of the kidneys and a check on the amount of calcium in the urine.
