Can emotional crises cause stroke?11/27/2006 |
I had a stroke in July after three negative events: loss of a close friend, a prolonged heat wave, and a major problem with my work. I feel these contributed; am I right?
Stress per se does not cause stroke. However, it does have indirect effects that may have contributed. When under stress, people usually don't sleep as well, have higher blood pressure, etc.
