Eye and Vision Care

Boric uses

11/28/2006

Question:

is boric acid ok to use as a wash for the cleasing of a stye? if it is how much to use and how often?

Answer:

Weak boric acid concentrations are found in eye washes. It is safe to use large amounts to irrigate the eye if a substance or object gets in it accidentally. Artificial tears are designed for use, if you have eye irritation or gritty feeling without a foreign substance or object. There are an abundance of these over-the-counter at your local grocery or drug store.
