Blood & protein in urine12/04/2006 |
My grandson WHO IS two and a haLF, HAD E COLI 8 MONTHS AGO AND HAD TO HAVE A TRANSFUSION, , WHEN HE WENT FOR A CHECK UP TO-DAY DOC FOUND I BLOOD IN URINE AND THREE PROTIEN IN URINE, WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN TEST TO DO ON HIM FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEREAFTER WEEKLY, HE HAS TO GO BACK IN TWO MONTHS, FOR CHECK UP, IS THIS SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT, DOC SAID IF IT DOES NOT CLEAR UP SOMETHING WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE, WHAT DO YOU THINK THANKS
This is a very complex question and not easily answered. Urine infections are relatively uncommon in little baby boys and those with infections usually do not need transfusions. Your doctor may feel it best to do some tests on your grandson, such as an ultrasound and some blood tests.
