Reasons for missed periods?

12/03/2006

Question:

My period is 2 weeks late. My period is like clockwork, always! I`ve had my tubes tied, but I did a home pregnancy test just to be sure, that was negative. I`m not under any unsual stress, there`s nothing out of the ordinary going on. I`m 36. What are some of the reasons why this might be happening?

Answer:

Occasionally periods just change; it could be stress, it could be illness, or it could be nothing. Since you're sure that you're not pregnant, it's probably nothing to worry about. You may just skip this period.
