Pain after root canal01/02/2007 |
i had a root canal done 2 days a go put temp. crown on tooth is very sensitive and can`t even bite down lightly without it being veryy painful, is this normal and how long should should this continue
Having pain after the root canal is normal - especially if the tooth was abscessed or had a lesion in the bone. It takes your immune system a few days to heal the infection/inflammation. In general, you should start to have relief in the next few days. Of course everyone heals differently. The pain should slowly subside. If it doesn't, you should have your dentist check the tooth again - especially the bite on the temporary crown.
