Bleeding and Clotting Disorders

Lump in vein of wrist

12/28/2006

Question:

Hi, I am a 34 year old female. I have a small, hard lump on the inner side of my wrist, on the outer right edge. It isn`t sore andlooks like a vein lump. It has been there for a while, though recently appears to be getting bigger. I have a slight throbbing/tingling pain in the fingers and wrist area. There has been no known trauma to the wrist. Should I be concerned? Thank you.

Answer:

It is hard to say what it may be without seeing it, but it could be related to a cyst that you can get on one of the nerves/tendons, or possibly something related to one of the veins on the inner aspect of the wrist.  I would have your physician check it out to be careful.  I hope this helps out somewhat.
