02/26/2007

Question:

Can a woman have sex after pap smear exam? I had a slight spotting after the examination, is that safe? And can I have normal sexual life with my partner?

Answer:

Yes, you can have sex after a Pap smear. The slight spotting is normal after a Pap smear as the superficial blood vessels are sometimes disrupted when wiping cells off the cervix.
