Braces

Braces

03/02/2007

Question:

Can teeth go back to being crooked after having braces?  I had braces 3-4 years ago for like 2 years and lately I`ve had toothaches and a wisdom tooth is coming in, which is getting me nervous about my beautiful smile going away.  Help!

Answer:

Because teeth never become permanently fixed to the jaw bones, the only way to insure that perfectly straight teeth stay that way is to wear a retainer to keep them in place. Usually night time wear is sufficient to keep things in line.
