What causes enamel deficiency? I`m reading a lot about malnutrition and I can tell you that malnutrition is definitely not the case. Could it be hereditary? What problems can arise from this?
Enamel deficiencies are usually hereditary. One form is amelogenesis imperfecta. The enamel just doesn't form right for some reason when the tooth is developing. Imperfections in enamel or just not having enough can lead to the breaking off of what enamel there is and can lead to decay.
