ammonia breath

03/16/2007

Question:

I `ve noticed that my 6 year olds breath smells like ammonia. Is this an indication that there is some sort of medical problem?

Answer:

You should not normally smell ammonia and it may indicate that there is a medical problem. Your pediatrician would be the best person to answer this question. I recommend that you contact the pediatrician’s office right away.
