Cramps & bloating after period

03/22/2007

Question:

I am 34 yrs old and have been on the pill for many years. I just finished a normal period last thursday (it`s now wednesday) and am still having mild cramps in pelvic area, lower back and legs, just like regular menstrual cramps. Any ideas on why this is happening or what it may be? I do have herpes, could this be a sign of an outbreak coming on?

Answer:

It is not a typical sign of an herpes infection, but everyone may have different symptoms. It isn't uncommon to have an atypical cycle every once in a while. Unless there is severe pain, you should just wait it out. If it occurs repeatedly, you should seek attention.
