Salt water taste after neuro-changes04/03/2007 |
Do you know what could cause salt water taste after a stroke, tia or neuro-changes realted to a brain tumor/stroke survivor, this is very upsetting for my 28yr old daughter?
While the specific symptoms you describe are not something I have seen before, they are certainly not impossible. The symptoms that are present after a stroke or other brain injury are dependent upon where in the brain the injury occurred. The brain is the organ which perceives the senses, such as taste. An injury to certain parts of the brain might influence the perception of taste. Alternatively, if the olfactory (smell) system was affected, this often affects taste too. From the information you provided, I cannot give you any more specific information.
