Addiction and Substance Abuse
Hi, I have a friend who has done cocaine off and on for a couple of years. He is wanting to get clean and I was wondering how long will it take to get it competely out of his system? Also, if he is sweating and a child or adult touches him will anything pass over? What about his salvia?
Thank you for your questions. Cocaine and its metabolites physically clear from the system within a matter of a couple days ... at most four days even after a heavy use period. Cocaine can continue to provide:
- mood swings
- difficulty in concentrating
- and urges to use
a few weeks to several months depending on the level of previous use.
There is no ability for the cocaine or metabolites to be spread to another person through casual or even intimate contact.
Hope this information is helpful.
