What is Hemivertebra and What are its Effects?04/03/2007 |
I have an issue with my spine. Can you tell me what is a hemivertebra and when a vertebrae is split and half of it is attached to disc above it and the other half is attached to the disc below what is this called? I`ve had alot of problems with my back and it seems this is some sort of congential defect. Can you explain?
Hemivertebra is a condition where the vertebral bodies do not form completely. It can lead to scoliosis and other problems. Your physician should be able to refer you to information on the specific type of that condition that you have.
