04/16/2007

Question:

Dear Dr Is there any fatal growth rate chart? my baby was at 28 weeks, ultrasound shows 27 weeks and the weight was 923 grams.at 32 weeks, it was only 30 weeks 5 days and the weight was 1535 grams.at 37 weeks and 3 days, she was only 35 weeks and 2 days with the weight of 2411.3 grams. at 38 weeks and 3 days, she was 37 weeks 1 day and weight 2775. Now at 39 weeks and 2 days and her weight is 2850 grams. Are those within the range? Normal? I am very worried about IUGR and hope everything is fine and she is just small. Thank you.

Answer:

There are normal curves for fetal growth. A fetus is considered normal size if they are between the 10th the 90th percentile. I have attached a link to a fetal growth chart for your use.
