I gave birth 2 weeks ago by c-section. My mom in law told me to use only hot (warm)water when washing hands, when taking shower. She told me not to read books, not to use internet etc because my eyes will be blurry in earlier age if i do as soon as after giving birth. I have to stay home, relax for 1 month without going out, without touching air from outside. She also told me to stay warm and let the body sweats. I feel kind of believing her although i still deny her old wives tale. My eyes aren`t strong enough now and sometimes blurry, my hands got pain when touching cold water or after awhile of touching cold water, they feel tingle or sometimes undescriable pain. What do western women do? Do they believe in that too? Do they stay home for 1 month and let the body sweats? Do they take shower? I also feel cold even it`s not so cold or hot outside. I really want to know the real cause of it and medical believe scientifically. Pls advice and suggest me. BTW, i feel like i have to go and check up my eyes because can`t see things that i used to see on TV. I can`t read the words from the news or songs if it is in distance. is it because i read during this time? is it because i use computer and my hands and fingers get pain??? Should i go and check up for my eyes or it will return to normal later??? thanks.
These are "old wives tales". I do suggest you have your vision checked to be sure that it is not something unrelated to pregnancy.
