Menopause

Fatigue

05/16/2007

Question:

I am 55, diabetic and watch my diet and exercise at most twice a week. I also have a part-time job as well as a full-time. I want to know if fatique is a menapausal symptom and do these attacks cause your blood sugar to flucuate? I don`t want to start any ET so could you recommend any over the counter product? I also suffer from ansomnia. Thanks.

Answer:

Fatigue is not necessarily a menopausal symptom, but certainly can be if it is the result of the sleep disruption caused by hot flashes.  The best approach to your fatigue would be to see someone for an evaluation of your insomnia problem.
