Bone scan and blood test05/18/2007 |
My rheumatologist wants me to get a bone scan. I have an appointment in August. Due to being on MTX I have to get blood test done every 6 weeks. The test includes CBC, ESR, Electorlites, LTF, Bun, and Creatine.
Could the stuff from the injection from the bone scan interfear with the blood tests? If it does then how long should I wait to get the blood test?
No, the tracer used for the bone scan will not interfere with your blood test results. Therefore, you are able to obtain your laboratories regardless of the bone scan timing.The following is to help clarify the laboratories for other potential visitors to the NetWellness website:
- CBC - complete blood count
- ESR - erythrocyte sedimentation rate
